"Confusing Love with Affection"
It could be a mistake to confuse affection with love. You
could feel sentimental affection for one you do not respect,
but where there is NO respect there c
an be NO love.
Why? Because respect is the life-blood of love!

Yes, some feign courtesy to feel superior; but I had the
very good fortune to be taught that real courtesy
expresses our respect for others. And now you’ve also
had the very good fortune to receive this teachings, as
well.

Sadly, many others mishandle respect, thinking that it is a
manifestation of fear.

I thank my teachers for explaining that true respect is an
expression of our sincere love for another.

Do you love your partner?
Then respect his or her:
•        needs,
•        abilities,
•        wishes and
•        feelings!

How are we to know the strength of the

that we share with our partner?

Easy! If karma effects perception then the greater our
Karmic-connection the more clearly we shall see our
partner's strengths.

What is the test of our karmic connection?

Do you feel contempt for your partner? Then you’ve
confused love with affection and they are simply your sex-
partner.

Do you sneer or snipe at your partner, {
even inwardly}?
Then they are not object of your true love and are merely
someone you live with; like a roommate or a pet.

But, if your respect for them is spontaneous and unfeigned
then your compatibility might just be strong enough to
ensure a genuinely promising relationship.

So karma effects perception, that effects respect, that is
the life-blood of love, eh?

To successfully traverse Buddha’s path of
Love and
Wisdom
it is imperative that you have a spiritual road
map that is as accurate as it is succinct and easy to use.

That is why I explain the “
Treasure of the Dalai Lamas”; so
you can make better use of Karma, so you can seize the
moment, so you can strengthen love, so you can

receive it’s rewards.
