Many years ago, when the mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum" first crossed
my path I was very dissatisfied, scared and clueless.
I didn't like my circumstances. I didn't like my lack of health. I didn't like my
lack of wealth and I didn't like my lack of happiness. I wanted to take
action. I wanted to make a change, but I was scared.
I was scared I'd only make things worse. And after a lifetime of allowing
myself to be victimized by fear mongers I brought that fearful momentum
right into my encounter with the Six-syllable mantra: "Om Mani Padme
Hum".
